Multinational enterprises (MNEs) are central actors in the productive globalization process. However, the internationalization of innovative activities is unusual, mainly to less developed countries. In this way, this article performs an evaluation of technological activities of MNE subsidiaries in Brazil in the period 20082010. The location of these enterprises is investigated as well as local aspects that influence their performance. It was observed that the region of São Paulo concentrates most of the technological activities of MNEs hosted in Brazil. The remaining regions with innovative MNEs showed higher economical and S,T&I indicators than the regions with no innovative MNE.
