Fatores que interferem na adesão do paciente ao tratamento da hipertensão arterial sistêmica: revisão integrativa

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is defined as high blood pressure levels. The risk factors associated with hypertension are obesity, sedentarism, dyslipidemia, unhealthy lifestyles and the occurrence of non treated coronary disease. Purpose: identify facilitating and inhibiting factors influencing patients' adherence to hypertension treatment. Methods: 36 scientific articles in the Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) database were analyzed. Discussion: Several inhibiting factors influencing patients' adherence were identified, such as inability to make lifestyle changes, the complexity of therapeutics, smoking, and alcoholism. Among facilitating factors, non-consumption of alcohol, good communication with the healthcare team and acceptance of disease were highlighted. Conclusion: patients must be educated by the healthcare team on how to properly deal with their health condition, thus, nursing professionals must solve doubts, apply therapeutic measures, educate patients, in addition to seek effective measures for combating non-adherence causes, aiming to increase better quality of life in hypertensive patients.
