Proposta de intervenção para controle da hipertensão dos usuários da estratégia saúde da família Progresso, município de Três Marias, Minas Gerais

Systemic arterial hypertension is a global chronic disease, silent, and widespread in our society, that lead to serious complications, mainly cardiovascular diseases. It greatly impacts the population in the area of the Basic Health Unit Progresso, located in the municipality of Três Marias, Minas Gerais. Thus, after carrying out the situational diagnosis, in the territory covered by the referred UBS, a large number of people with hypertension were identified, and many without therapeutic adherence. In order to face the problem, it was chosen as the objective of this study to elaborate an intervention project to prevent for the prevention and control of hypertension, as well as to contribute to the improvement of the community’s quality of life. A literature review was carried out in the databases of the Virtual Health Library (VHL), in the databases of the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Sistema Online de Busca e Análise de Literatura Médica (MEDLINE) and site of the Ministry of Health and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics. It was found that primary care, and the health team should prioritize continuous education for hypertension prevention and control. It was seen that the development of an intervention project can contribute to increase users' knowledge about arterial hypertension and how a “common and silent disease” can generate so many and important problems for them. It was also seen that the use of methods of discussion and meetings, as well as continuous work (continuing education) can generate a change of habit in the community and can be predominant in the patient's adherence to the pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment.
