Resumen
With scientific and technological advances occurred in the area of health, especially in women's health, it became unacceptable for the reproduction process causes the same damage. Aware of this reality it is clear that the Ministry of Health has adopted a series of measures to improve the quality of care maternal / child. We highlight here the importance of prenatal care to prevent changes that may occur during the cycle pregnancy / postpartum such as Pre-eclampsia. This is characterized by hypertension with proteinuria and / or pathological edema, and can be mild to moderate. Pre-eclampsia can develop into eclampsia accompanied by seizures. The purpose of this study is to develop a text on epidemiological, conceptual and scientific assistance for prevention of Pre-eclampsia through a narrative review of the literature. The Pre-eclampsia usually occurs after the 20th week of pregnancy, classified by the gradual development of hypertension and proteinuria. It appears when the level of blood pressure is greater than or equal to 140/90 mmHg with proteinuria (> 300mg/24h). Knowing little about its etiology, there are reports that extrinsic factors such as age, race, and intrinsic as genetics, calf and placental problems can trigger this disease. Noting that nursing care in primary health care is extremely important, helping to prevent such bouts. Improving scientific and technical knowledge can contribute much in the monitoring of these pregnant women within a multidisciplinary team, thereby increasing the quality of attention to women's health.
