Objective: To identify the literature on the scientific training of Primary Health Care (PHC) professionals to act in preventing the misuse of alcohol and / or other drugs. Methods: Methods: The present study this is an integrative literature review performed by analysis of studies of health. Results: We included five studies (three papers, a dissertation and a doctoral thesis) that address the training of primary care professionals on alcohol or other drugs. The training carried out focused on the promotion and prevention of misuse or abuse of drugs in APS, and topics such as biological, psychological, social and epidemiological studies of alcohol / drugs and Brief Intervention. Two studies included in this review used techniques of role-playing group; one study used the methodology of teaching workshops; and two studies did not describe the technique used during the training. Conclusion: The studies showed the relevance of training on drugs in primary care and highlighted the role of this level of attention in the practice of care for drug users. Currently, there are not many papers on the subject studied in this review, but the increase of drug use and the need to train health professionals to work in this area can be a great encouragement for a greater number of researches.
