Resumen
We present in this work the theme of the "sense of life", its importance in the reception and clinical work with desperate people facing the possibility of self-destruction. This work was done through theoretical research on how the lack of existential meaning can lead to suicide, the perspective of existential analysis and the concepts of Viktor Emil Frankl. The current contemporary crisis of increasing suicide around the world narrows the link between meaninglessness and suicide. The lack of a sense of life can be considered as one of the roots for suicide in the contemporary world. Thinking about the crisis of the existential sense that plagues the contemporary man can bring light to the clinic that at all times receives people in situations of despair many times without the minimum condition of reflecting on the existential void that assaults them. Viktor Frankl's concepts not only offer elements that can contribute enrichingly to current issues of meaninglessness and suicide, but can be an invitation to help build meaning with practical groundwork for the desperate of our time.
