Most authors based the muscle strength of the lower limbs leads to improved gait. Conclusion: High-intensity muscle strengthening programs provide significant gains in muscle strength and therefore in functional mobility. However, low intensity exercises are able to improve functional performance in elderly despite small gains in muscle strength. A strict monitoring of professionals in physical therapy is necessary, at all stages of training in order to prevent any injuries and optimize results.
