dc.description.abstractObesity is considered a chronic disease epidemic and therefore has shown a rapid increase in prevalence in recent decades, both in developed and in developing countries, and is associated with a high morbidity and mortality. The etiology of obesity is multifactorial, with genetic and environmental factors involved. Among the environmental stand out excessive energy intake and decreased physical activity. Health Unit in the Santa Rita, of the City Nova Lima - MG. 2 % of the population from 06 to 12 years is obese. Therefore, this study aimed to develop and propose a plan of action aimed at addressing this issue in the strategy of family health, and subsequently improving basic health indicators such as reducing the rate of obesity target audience; encouragement of the practice of physical, growth and development with lower risk of dyslipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, and other comorbidities .
