Resumen
The dynamic of intake manifold admission on internal combustion engines involves parameters such as length, diameter, camshaft rotation and other geometries and accessories. The alternative movements of the admission valves and piston produce the phenomena of generation of pressure waves that spread through the conduit. Such waves, if well used, can increase the air mass quantity admitted. In the present work it is developed the project and the electronic control of a resonator of variable volume, with the main goal to increase the volume of air admitted by the engine. It is also presented a complete methodology to use the pulsing effects spreading through the admission conduct. An experimental analysis of the requested valves and resonator position in the intake conduits was evaluated in flow bench, aiming its influence in the amount of mass air admitted by the cylinder. After implementation of the electronic control dynamics tests were performed in flow bench, to evaluate the performance of electronic resonator to the required volume. The resonators performance has been evaluated on a bench dynamometer. The characteristics curves were obtained from the engine with the resonator installed before and after the throttle. The results show the best position and feasibility of using an electronic resonator enabling, for each engine rotation and load, adjust the pressure waves on intake manifold, therefore improving the engine performance for all engine rotations at full load condition.
