Dental implants have been used successfully in rehabilitating treatments of fully edentulous patients, however, the great possibility of restorative alternatives and indications of overdentures makes it difficult for the clinician to establish the best treatment plan with the specific focus on his patient. This work, through a review of the literature, aims to determine the degree of satisfaction of patients regarding aesthetics, phonetics, retention, stability, function after being submitted to treatment with mandibular overdentures, and to establish the minimum design of these prostheses that meet the needs and desires of patients.
