Resumen
The demographics changes of the population have led to changes in the epidemiological profile, with a predominance of chronic diseases. This narrative work review of literature aimed at identifying the factors that are associated with a sedentary lifestyle for the FHS to promote more effective actions against this habit of inadequate life and, thus, make an action to prevent these diseases and their complications. The studies reviewed indicate that physical inactivity increases with age, like: be male, be married, be low scholarity level and income, have self-perception of health as poor, are associated with a sedentary lifestyle. It also showed that the PFH does not provide protection against physical inactivity. From these associations described in the literature, there is an evident need for public policies especially to the socially disadvantaged segments, young and old. The ESF has an important role in health promotion and the shares of family health teams must begin in childhood population in order to achieve the long term, improving lives quality.
