Cadastro nacional de entidades custodiadoras de acervos arquivísticos: diversidade custodial e políticas de memória

Abstract

Efficient management of public archives walks hand in hand with acknowledgement and identification of them. In light of such fact, the Archive National Council –Conarq approved a Resolution, in 2019, aiming at identifying and coding archival collection management institutions. This paper, by means of document analysis and data seriation,provides identification of the institutional profile of such institutions. The adoption of such procedures aims at investigating the Brazilian management scenario as well as the important role played by memory policies that encompass such diversity. This perspective lead to a broader one regarding the room left for the post-management phenomenon, alongside management, and its implications for preservation of electronic documents as memory records.
