dc.description.abstract | This survey of literature review aimed to discuss the accidents at work with the nursing staff in hospitals in Brazil. The pursuit of material was performed by electronic search of articles indexed in the database Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (LILACS) using the following descriptors: nursing staff, occupational hazards, accidents at work. Inclusion criteria for the selection of articles were published in the period 2004 to 2010, the Portuguese language. Found 14 items, of which the abstracts were read and selected 10 for analysis and discussion. The results discussed considering the biological material, needlestick injuries, musculoskeletal disorders, and chemical load. In the discussion of an article that discusses the relationship of the accident with the procedure performed. It was concluded that the epidemiology of these accidents, the correct use of personal protective equipment helps reduce exposure to occupational hazards. | |
