This research is based on the curiosity to understand how the "Inhotim place" is constituted and, above all, how the inhabitants of Brumadinho appropriate of this place and apprehend it as a museum space specialized in contemporary art and botany in its cultural and environmental emphasis. The Cultural Institute Inhotim as a place is loaded with meanings and narratives of those who live in the same territory in which the Institute is inserted. It has local, global and contemporary elements and is represented by established relationships (or not), experiences, incantations, conflicts, and contrasts. From this point of view, one should consider all the meanings attributed in relation to it. After all, the place embodies affection, feeling of belonging, but also estrangement.
