dc.description.abstractThe increasing prevalence of overweight in children is an issue of significant public health and alarming trend to grow with every decade. Inactivity plays an important role in the development of obesity and consequently can impact the lives of children with chronic degenerative diseases. The growing obtaining space by women in the labor market and the constant search for the optimization of time and productivity by the market, began to require workers to perform a greater number of daily activities, thus reducing the time available for completion of preparations meals. This paper aims to conduct a nutritional intervention through culinary workshops for elementary school children in a public school in the city of Entre Rios de Minas. In this context the intervention will promote healthy eating habits among children from cooking workshops highlighting the benefits of using healthy preparations and demonstrating the advantages of preparing the food itself.
