It is about investigating the concept of virtue in the work of Leo Strauss. It is intended at first remake the Straussian argument around the developments of the concept of virtue since his apprehension among the ancient Greeks, and them passing by the Machiavellian revolution in philosophical treatment of this concept to get to that, according to Strauss, redesigned the contemporary worldview about the possibilities of a genuine virtue and the place of these discourse in our society. We intend to show at the end of the tesis the possibility of a contemporary virtue is related with the revaluation of the gentleman concept as intellectually privileged political actor and liberal education, whose concept will be clarified in the text, as an appropriate strategy for the creation of possibility conditions for the existence of the gentleman.
