Circulatory diseases are responsible for significant impact on mortality of the Brazilian population, accounting for 32% of deaths in 2002. In Brazil, in recent years, cardiovascular diseases have been the main cause of mortality, with hypertension and diabetes mellitus as key risk factors that affects, today, almost 20% of the population above 20 years. In our population increase of these risk factors in most cases due to reduction of knowledge under the theme. Thus, this study aimed to draw up a contingency plan to Increase the level of knowledge of cardiovascular risk factors in the population of the PSF Santo Judas, Count. To this end, did research in the databases LILACS, MEDLINE and IBECS, with descriptors in health planning, risk and cardiovascular diseases. The contingency plan was based on the Situational strategic planning method. In the speech, intends to evaluate the patients ' level of information related to the topic, before and after applying the educational program, developed by team members, as well as strengthening the system of care for cardiovascular risk and training, first, of the participating professionals. This type of intervention is important in the basic attention, since it allows the population get the tools to minimize the development of cardiovascular diseases.
