dc.description.abstract | This work presents an experimental study on the void fraction in two-phase horizontal flows with R1234yf fluid. The object of the study was the determination of the void fraction for a large range of quality and for some values of mass flow and saturation temperature of the flu-id. The R1234yf is one of the candidates for replacing the R134a into vehicle air conditioning systems. This fluid has a strong environmental appeal due to its very low GWP (Global Warming Potential) and null ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential). In this study, the technique used to determine the void fraction was the QCV method (Quick Closing Valve). The exper-imental apparatus used in this work and the testing procedure are detailed in this monograph. In addition, the results obtained in the tests are presented, which pointed out the correlation of Barockzy (1965) as the most accurate, followed by the correlations of Hugmark (1962) and Kanizawa and Ribatski (2017). | |
