dc.description.abstractThis paper aims to introduce a tool composed of programming routines and electronic spreadsheets for the sizing and budgeting of concrete slabs on steel form deck, using steel deck floor produced by METFORM S/A. The processing was split into four distinct stages. The first stage refers to the choice of the cheaper steel shape (height x thickness) and geometry alternative, according to previously arbitrated parameters. The second stage corresponds to the calculation of produced and active actions and reactions on the slab during the construction phase, based on the composite slab configuration chosen among the viable alternatives presented in the first step. In this case, a configuration that is the single one with the best performance is suggested, considering the arbitrated parameters in that step. In the third stage, the shapes for the secondary beams are selected by verifying of the limit states, and the single one with the best performance and/or suitability for the entire project must be chosen. Finally, in the fourth stage, the estimated costs of execution of the slab object of study are calculated and showed.
