Atuação do fisioterapeuta do núcleo de apoio à saúde da família junto aos cuidadores de idosos: proposta de intervenção

Abstract

According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE (2010), the elderly population in Brazil has increased significantly and is a contingent of nearly 15 million people aged 60 or older, or 8.6 % of the Brazilian population. In addition to the physiological changes of aging there are also chronic diseases that require constant care and monitoring. Elder care is performed mostly by people without adequate basic training, a relative or a person hired for this purpose. In this sense, the aim of this work will be a proposal for intervention, focused on educational activities, directed to caregivers of Ervália, Minas Gerais, in order to improve their health and the quality of their work through the backing of a physiotherapist working to the Health Family Support Nucleus (or NASF). We believe that this proposal will give attention and assistance to caregivers contributing to their physical and mental well-being, getting them motivated to work and therefore improving caregivers relationship with patient and also with the health team.
