dc.description.abstractThe goal of this work is describe the nite dimensional representationsof semisimple Lie algebras g over C, where g also has finite dimension. Initially, is necessary the study of Cartan subalgebras, together of root systems, which leads to decomposition: where h g is a Cartan subalgebra. At the same time, Freudenthal's and Weyl's formulas give us the dimensions of these representations mentioned above. Moreover, we present the theory of characters and representation ring as tools that help us understand of representations of Lie algebras.
