dc.description.abstract | The Police Report , main operational document issued by the Military Police of Minas Gerais (PMMG), is a text genre which, due to its importance, is object of study of programs intended for training professionals for the practice of their duties in the organization. This fact justifies the need for intensifying the production of theoretical inputs about the genre, that will enable the sustainability of pedagogical activities developed in courses designed to teach text production. With the goal of contributing to the formulation of theories that can be used in educational practices, a brief historical survey of the educational system at the PMMG was conducted, which included considerations about the insertion of courses related to teaching of the genre in the programs curricula, besides the rescue of academic researches dedicated to the study of linguistic aspects of the Police Report. In sequence, an analysis of a model of Police Report was developed, based on the theoretical framework of Mainguenau (1997), Fiorin (1998) and Faria (2001), which, counterposed to a newsletter developed from the same generative fact of operational document writing, allowed it to highlight some aspects of the discourse of the military police officer. The analyses constitute the possibility of approaching the genre in pedagogical activities, as they lead to reflection on the effects that linguistic choices can create on discourse projection, in this case, referring to the image of the military police officer. | |
