dc.description.abstractThis study aims to deploy and implement the best practices of care during labor and birth in the Municipal Maternity Mother Elisa, in São João do Piauí - PI. The study is intervention plan with a qualitative approach, aimed to carry out training for doctors, nurses and nursing technicians for good care practices; change the care model to the current and interventional biomedical delivery; improve the ambience of the spaces of the institution in accordance with the guidelines of the Stork Network; helping to reduce the cesarean delivery rate. In April they were trained 60% of physicians, 80% of nurses and 83% nursing technicians as the Good Practices attention to labor and birth. There was a replacement of the resistance of the care and interventional biomedical model by professionals; however with the training it was noticed a greater sensitivity of the front of professional practices of humanized delivery. The number of cesarean delivery remains high requiring that these interventions are continuous so that in the near future results will be achieved. Regarding the ambience there was a better use of the physical from the labor room space, reducing the number of beds from 4 to 3, ensuring a larger space for ambulation of pregnant women, making this more airy room, put screens ensuring greater privacy for the same. The work contributes strategically to strengthen and actuatize out the of the labor and delivery care, enabling the creation of an appropriate structure for the care usual risk of birth, educating women and families on the benefits of natural childbirth, so you can demand of health services an obstetric quality care.
