Resumen
The unwillingness of urban expansion in land use and occupation, coercively causes bad planning of the territory when society establishes itself in a given area. One of the main focuses of survival has always been water availability, in which they interact directly with humans. This intrinsic interaction is also the reason for major urban disasters: floods. On one side we have the natural cycle of water, and on the other, the insertion of urbanization in an abrupt way. The water bodies that run through the cities have been modified over the years until, a great extension of them, they are covered by pavements, now called "sanitary avenues". The present work has the objective of analyzing the feasibility of sanitary avenues of the urban macro drain system with emphasis on the Cachoeirinha Stream system located in Belo Horizonte/MG. The proposed methodology qualitatively approaches decision-making processes for interventions in urban watercourses with the use of urban drainage compensatory techniques and a comparative method with the case study of the Cheonggyecheon River in the city of Seoul, the capital of South Korea. As main conclusions it is suggested a more in-depth analysis of the efficiency of each sanitary avenue already installed to propose its reintegration into the urban space. Finally, urban rivers can be classified as agents for improving the quality of life. There is no plausible feasibility in the construction of sanitary avenues that justify the coverage of rivers for traffic mobility, let alone to hide rivers from inhospitable sewers. The conjecture of revitalizations in urban rivers (re) inserts the watercourse as a respectable element in the dynamics of the city.
