Resumen
The biological control of pests, despite being well known in the scientific environment, needs to be better internalized in the agricultural environment. Currently, the biological control technology transfer (TT) processes practiced have been based on the diffusionist system, that is, the transfer of knowledge guided by lectures, meetings, field days, production of scientific material and courses. There is also a gap between research, rural extension and financial institutions, which makes it difficult for producers to access the technology generated in research centers. To this end, this work aims to investigate a strategy for transferring biological pest control technology from research centers to cooperatives, associations and family farming. To this end, it sought to establish a partnership with the technical assistance company Emater, credit cooperatives together with its members, carrying out previous studies of the communities of interest in order to identify variables, peculiar to each community and, based on this knowledge, adapt projects to each reality. The strategy involved technical training in production systems, biological control with pest monitoring, implementation of demonstration units and a network connection for sharing information on pest monitoring. The connection strategy proved to be an essential tool to boost the use and technology transfer of biological pest control, because when one chooses to work with the agent Trichogramma, an egg parasitoid, we must take into account the biological aspects of the parasitoid and of the plague, in this context the speed of information was a fundamental strategy.
