Resumen
Introduction: The increased level of sports activities has appeared in a progressive manner. As a result of this increase, shoulder injuries are occurring more frequently, generating a need in the scientific community in the advancement of techniques for assessment and treatment of this complex joint. But the information for the assessment and treatment of the shoulder joint complex still generate conflicts, especially when it involves the shoulder of athletes. These conflicts generated appear to be linked to the limited number of studies validating the tests of the shoulder. The settings on the steps of positioning tests, performance and muscle strength are not yet adequately explained, without a valid and reliable method for clinical evaluation, which could help doctors and physiotherapists in the proper conduct of the clinical picture of their patients. Objective: To review the literature on the available tests for flexibility, and performance prediction of muscular strength of the shoulder joint complex tests and see which meets the established psychrometric properties. Methods: Research articles in Medline (via Pubmed), previously selected 268 items, included only 12 articles. Discussion: In the studies reviewed there was an association between the clinical symptoms with changes in scapular movement pattern and / or glenohumeral - humerus. However, these surveys provide necessary support to identify important risk factors, allowing the therapist to more effectively conduct the evaluation and management techniques. Conclusion: There is a clinically feasible and reliable method to determine the presence of kinematic changes of the shoulder girdle.
