Resumen
This dissertation aims to analyze the potential impacts of urban and road infrastructure works implemented in the 2000s in the North Vec tor region of the city of Belo Horizonte for the conformation of urban centralities. Using the database of the Municipal Register of Taxpayers of the Belo Horizonte City (CMC), an index of analysis of productive agglomerations was built. The analysis consi sts of verifying the effects of the development of Large Urban Projects (GPUs) on the level of specialization of goods and services offered in different urban spaces. The main results suggest the rigidity of the CenterSouth region as a provider of special ized services and the formation of specialized centers continuing to the established centralities which reinforce suburban centralities. Punctual reinforcements were also identified in the regions of North Vector, depending on the type of service analyze d, which suggests that GPUs may have reinforced preexisting centralities, but that it’s impacts were limited.
