Abstract

Treatment of atrophic mandible fracture occurred during an installation of dental implants: review of literature and case report.The aim of this study was to describe and discuss the treatment of an atrophic mandible fracture during the installation of short dental implants, in which the literature review and the report of a clinical case are presented. The literature review describes the currently recommended methods of atrophic jaw rehabilitation and discusses the currently available short dental implants on the market that can be used to address cases where conventional-sized implant placement is contraindicated. The clinical case cited is that of a patient who suffered a fracture in the atrophic mandible during the installation of short implants for the creation of a prototype, a procedure whose adopted procedure was to reduce existing fractures and prevent the appearance of future fractures. an 8-mm 2,4 mm titanium plate and 2 short implants in the posterior mandible for better distribution of the forces produced during mastication.
