This work is a study of narrative literature review about the burnout syndrome in professionals of the health. The burnout syndrome or syndrome professional burnout is a psychological disorder described in 1974 by the physician Freudenberger. The syndrome manifests itself especially in people whose profession requires direct and intense interpersonal involvement. The diagnosis takes into account the lifting of the patients history and his involvement and personal accomplishment. The three stages of burnout are emotional exhaustion, reduced accomplishment and dehumanization at work. This review summarized the published knowledge about the factors that determine the burnout in health professionals also identifying which parts of these factors are present in primary health care. The results of this study on burnout in health professionals were consistent, confirming the presence of the disease in these workers. Therefore, early diagnosis depends on the dissemination of information about what is the disease, allowing these health-care professionals to perform prevention and health promotion. The factors that can lead to illness of the primary care health can be prevented and solved with an early diagnosis, initiation of appropriate treatment and appropriate follow-up that includes training, training and supervision of professionals. These aspects justify the importance of this work for workers in the health field.
