Lower limb injuries are common in clinical practice, such as venous ulcers, arterial ulcers and diabetic foot injuries. This study aimed to characterize the epidemiological and demographic profile of patients suffering from injuries, seen at a chronic wounds care service in a private hospital in Belo Horizonte / MG, in 2018. This is a quantitative, observational and prevalence study. The sample consisted of 320 patients with injuries seen at this service. Of these, 210 had lesions in the lower limbs and 110 had lesions in places other than specifically the lower limbs. The collected data were recorded in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, using the double-typing technique. Subsequently, the data were exported and analyzed in the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) program, version 11.5, for statistical analysis, using the calculation of the prevalence rate of lower limb injuries and the absolute and relative frequencies to describe the variables. collected and mean and standard deviation. The profile of the patient with lower limb injuries, in the hospital in question, was mostly composed of female patients, Caucasian, married, retired, with an average age of 68.2 years, overweight and with an injury only. Most had venous ulcers (30%), followed by diabetic foot injury (27.8%) and arterial injury (8.75%). The remainder (injuries in places other than lower limbs) totaled 33.4%. The prevalence of lower limb injuries was 66%. The age and duration of the lesion showed significantly different results between the two groups of patients, that is, patients with lesions in the lower limbs and patients with lesions other than specifically in the lower limbs. The variables race and work status showed significantly different results between the two groups of patients. The objectives were partially achieved, with the incompleteness of some medical records limiting this research.
