Family law has undergone a profound restructuring over the years, owing to the new contours of private autonomy and respect for the principle of the dignity of the human person. In this context, an intense debate arose at the Fifteenth World Conference of the International Society of Family Law, to answer if the branch of Family Law is in the process of pairing with Contractual Law. In an attempt to answer this question, this article proposes a broad legal debate, going through the historical and economic context.
