Avaliação do gerenciamento de resíduos sólidos em indústria com sistema de gestão integrado da qualidade e ambiental: estudos de caso

Abstract

The management of industrial solid residues for organizations that implement and keeps an Integrated System of Management of the Quality and Environment looks for to diminish the ambient impacts caused by the generation of these residues. These organizations search the minimization, reuse and correct final destination of the generated residues that can be verified through the effectiveness of the management of the solid residues for the Integrated System of Management. Two cases of organizations had been studied that had implanted an Integrated System of Management, the ArcelorMittal Monlevade (steel industry) and the Belgo Bekaert Arames (wire drawing). The objective of this work was to raise the characteristics of the organization with the implementation of the Integrated System of Management; to know and to characterize the industrial solid wastes with the implementation and maintenance of these Systems and to analyze the results, throughout this maintenance considered by the industrials for the generation of solid residues. The methodology consisted of the survey of information and data through visits to the two organizations; informal colloquies with collaborators; bibliographical research and quantitative and qualitative analysis of these data. The results of the research had evidenced the improvement of the management of the industrial residues for the two organizations, having demonstrated the awareness of the high direction and collaborators in the ambient preservation. The two organizations adopt as measured corrective the reuse and correct final destination of all the residues generated in its industrial processes is in the proper productive process or of another industry. The results had lead the conclusion of that the performance of these organizations demonstrates to the continuous improvement of the management of the industrial solid residues due to implementation of an Integrated System of Management of the quality and environment. The ArcelorMittal Monlevade through the reuse of solid residues reduces the extraction of the ore of iron in the Mine of the Andrade. The Belgo Bekaert Arames leads all the generated solid residues to the other industries that incorporate them in its productions or they give correct final destination.
