Sistemas de transporte en Colombia en los siglos XIX y XX

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este trabajo contiene la historia de los sistemas de transporte más importantes empleados en Colombia durante la colonia y los siglos XIX y XX.

Los sistemas de transporte en cuestión son los caminos, las carreteras, los ferrocarriles, las vías fluviales y la aviación. Todas se han desarrollado y han permitido, en estos dos siglos, la integración del territorio nacional, un objetivo buscado desde la colonia.

El desarrollo de los sistemas de transporte, enmarcado dentro de los contextos histórico y económico, permite comparar la evolución del sector transporte con otros sectores de la economía y con las tendencias históricas.

Se llega a conclusiones sobre el impacto de las vías de comunicación en el progreso del país y se proponen soluciones para que el transporte sea más eficiente y preste mejores servicios.

ABSTRACT: This work contains the history of the main transportation systems in Colombia during the colony and the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

The transportation systems in the study are the roadways, rail wails, fluvial way and the aviation. All of them have had a development and have supported, in these two centuries, the integration of the national territories, a goal desired since colonial times.

The development of the transportation systems is framed within the historic and economic context, which allows to compare the evolution of the transportation field with other fields of the economy and with historic tendencies.

Conclusions about the impact of the communication way in the progress of the country are extracted and solutions for getting more efficient transportation are proposed.
