Lo perverso y lo sagrado: geometría mágica y magnetismo monetario en el culto popular a "El socio" Julio Garavito Armero, en el Cementerio Central de la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia

Abstract

El presente trabajo de grado muestra un proceso investigativo llevado a cabo entre el año 2014-2018 en el Cementerio Central de la ciudad de Bogotá. Durante este tiempo se implementó el método etnográfico en este lugar come eje metodológico de todo el proceso investigativo realizado. Esto con el fin de describir y analizar el culto popular de veneración al santo popular Julio Garavito Armero, práctica ritual que se desarrolla en este panteón de la ciudad. También esta etnografía busca describir cual es el tipo de devoto que asiste a estos cultos populares en términos culturales y sociales. Además, de identificar el proceso ritual mediante el cual el devoto de este culto transforma un muerto en santo popular y lo data de un sentido milagroso. De este modo, este trabajo de grado se encuentra inmerso dentro de la corriente de la antropología social. Así mismo, este texto expone dos categorías deducidas de campo que se denominan: geometría mágica y magnetismo monetario las cuales describen en esencia el culto popular y su influencia en la vida de los devotos.

This degree work sample a investigative proccess carried out between the year 2014-2018 in the Central Cemetery of the city of Bogota. During this time is implemented the ethnography method in this place as a methodological axis of all the investigative process was made. This in order to describe and analyze the popular cult about the veneration to the popular saint Julio Garavito Armero, practice ritual that develops in this pantheon of the city. Also this ethnography seeks to describe which type of devotee who attends to this popular cults in cultural and social terms. Also, identify the ritual process through which the devotee of this cult transform a dead in popular saint and it gives it a miraculous meaning. In this way, this degree work is immersed inside the current of social anthropology. Likewise, this text proposes two categories deducted from field named: magic geometry and monetary magnetism which describe in essence this popular cult and its influence in the life of the devotees.
