In consideration of the wide range of human rights that are included in the legal instruments of the
international order that have been signed by the States that make up the union of the Americas, it
is essential to recognize the authority of the competent bodies for the promotion, intervention and
protection of stories prerogatives, such as the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and
the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. According to the obligation in the observance of the
norms for the protection of human rights, as a corollary of this, the pronouncements of the InterAmerican Commission regarding the substantive study of the applications, the recommendations
developed for the legal protection of the human rights violated in each case and the proposals to
achieve a friendly solution was achieved in a mandatory source of application in the internal order of the States. This research article seeks to recognize the role of the decisions of the Inter-American
Commission on Human Rights in Colombia in direct connection with the normative supremacy
that originates in the exegesis of the treaties signed and ratified by the State and that are part of the
block of constitutionality in accordance with the 1991 Political Constitution.
