Abstract
Colombia is characterized by its ethnic and multicultural diversity, due to the settlement of several minority groups around the country, which must be realized and accounted for when producing legal and political actions within the territory. The Juvenile Justice System for Youth population, is regulated by the comprehensive, pedagogical, and restorative premises. However, in the current state of affairs, inadequacies have been discovered in indigenous adolescent communities resulting in their civil rights being violated. Such is the case of adolescents from the Wayuu communities, who have a high prevalence and settlements nationwide, mainly located within La Guajira District. The aim of this research work, with a qualitative approach of a documentary review and a bibliographic style, was to discover restorative practices to be used for The Juvenile System of Youth in Colombia to broach cases of Wayuu communities adolescents in La Guajira District. Among the main discoveries, was the generalized approach contemplated by the institutional guidelines when dealing with cases of minority groups such as indigenous communities; the lack of regional guidelines which consider the specifics of ethnic groups within the region and the need for more research (and funding) in order to find suitable alternatives for restorative practices that could allow reflection about the misbehavior and disruptive behaviors conducted by these adolescents to help find a better process for their transformations away from those kind of behaviors.
