Resumen
This applied research work is carried out to evaluate, compare and produce 100% ecologically and environmentally sustainable asphalt, using Natural Asphalt Mixture (MAN), from the San Pedro mine, located in the municipality of Armero Guayabal, Department of Tolima, Colombia, with addition of recycled rubber granule (GCR), for localized reparcheo.
Ecological re-patching
The problem lies essentially in the production of solid waste pollutants from tires out of use, generation of polluting gases harmful to health and the environment, hearing pollution and the use of fossil fuels for the production of hot dense mixtures.
With our GREEN MAN mixture, we use natural materials, we recycle a lot of used tires, around 51.31 kg per m3, we avoid the production of polluting gases by 48%, compared to the production of a traditional asphalt mixture, by not requiring plants hot mixers neither of great infrastructure for mechanical processes, minimum use of heavy machine and economically sustainable.
Through the methodological application of the particular Standard 442 p, of the National Institute of Ways INVIAS, we evaluate the physical behavior of our MAN GREEN mixture, complying with the parameters of the technical specifications requested in the particular standard.
According to the laboratory tests, it is concluded that the optimum percentage of addition of Recycled Rubber Granule (GCR), for our mixture is 3%, the addition of asphalt emulsion type CRL-1, corresponds to 8%, based on in these results we proceeded to make the reparcheos located in the test sections, finding that 8 months after their execution, they show a good behavior, without surface affectations such as cracking or subsidence.
We managed to manufacture and pack our MAN GREEN mixture, in 25 kg bags, with an approximate duration of 12 months, by adding a preservative derived from petroleum, we are in the process of commercialization and patent approval.
It is concluded that we can use waste tires used as a modifier of Natural Asphalt Mixtures (MAN), prolonging its useful life, increasing its stability, improving adherence, reducing noise and providing more ecological and clean road construction materials.
In the field of civil works, execution times and mobility problems would be reduced, clean works would be carried out without debris materials, more durable and resistant reparcheos, rehabilitation of home service crossings in record time, leveling of higher loads in wells inspection and deteriorated joints, construction of speed reducers with their own design, helping the mobility of vehicles and the comfort of users. "Welcome to ecological reparcheo"
