Modelos y aplicaciones en ingeniería para el desarrollo social y tecnológico

Abstract

Engineering is seldom thought of as a social activity; But it is, in fact, social needs and pressures frame the role of engineers, and how they shape contexts in society. According to the World Bank, social development focuses on the need to “put people first” for the development process, which is why it seeks to attack problems such as poverty, vulnerability, exclusion, corruption and violence. In this context, the volume is entitled Engineering for social and technological development. Which seeks to disseminate the results of research participating in the X and XI Call for Internal Research of the Universidad Santo Tomás Seccional Bucaramanga. The works gathered here are in areas of knowledge, such as: statistics, optimization, mathematical modeling, simulation, quality management, 3D developments, among others; seeking in all the projects presented a contribution that contributes to solving problems in society, specifically, promoting social and technological development.
