Resumen
Taking care of oneself and reconciliation are two key aspects when transforming the subjective and intersubjective behaviors of the ex-members of the FARC and the dwellers in regards to the peace process that is being carried out. This study aims to find out what goes through the minds of the ex-members of the guerrilla and the towners when they hear the words self-care and reconciliation in Icononzo. This research has a narrative and ethnographic qualitative emphasis. Besides, thirteen members of the guerillas and ten leaders have been involved. They are part of a small community in Icononzo. A semi-structured interview and the ongoing observations. The findings revolve around memories linked to self-care and freedom practices; forgiveness as a human ability to change going from acknowledging the damage caused by the abusers from recognizing these individuals who inflicted pain on others as a human beings; the principle of defense and life as a means of reconciliation and peaceful interactions and the talk as a means of human predisposition that redefine the role of the ex-member of the guerillas as a political figure and now allow the towners to empower themselves in a community. It is thus important to highlight that there have not been previous works on this particular subject matter. It is a complete new thing above all because it comprises reincorporation and normalization of strategies and workshops when it comes to an international peace deal to finally resolve a civil war.
