Introduction: Evaluate the level of knowledge, attitudes and practices of general practitioners and pediatric doctors of the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga, according to the translation, adaptation and cross-cultural validation of the questionnaire "Knowledge, Attitude and Practices of Pediatricians Regarding"; regarding the prevention of oral diseases in children. Through the need to generate and improve skills and dialogue that motivates general doctors and pediatricians to acquire skills, updates and new knowledge about oral cavity education. Objective: Analyze the level of knowledge, attitudes and practices of general doctors and pediatric doctors of the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga in the prevention of oral diseases in children. Methodology: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out on 106 general doctors and 22 pediatricians from the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga. The sampling of this study was non-probabilistic, for convenience. We included a univariate analysis for quantitative variables and a bivariate analysis to test the existence of differences between pediatricians and general doctors, using the chi-squared test or Fisher's exact test, comparing the number of correct answers in each dimension for pediatricians and general doctors, using Student's t-test or Mann-Whitney U test, depending on whether the quantitative variable presents normal distribution or not, respectively. Results: Of the 128 doctors surveyed, 74 were men and 54 were women. 64.84% of the participants practiced their profession in the city of Bucaramanga, 25% in the city of Floridablanca and 10.16% in the city of Giron. 9.09% of general practitioners and 27.36% of pediatric doctors consider breastfeeding as a risk factor for dental caries. 100% of pediatric doctors agree that poor oral hygiene is a risk factor for Gingivitis. the respondents identified in addition to the family tendency, the inadequate positioning of the teeth, the habit of sucking objects without nutritional value, the use and consumption of bottles and the anatomy of the oral cavity as risk factors to develop failures in the occlusion. Conclusions: It was evidenced that less than half (43.75%) of the respondents always perform an oral cavity examination during the pediatric patient consultation, and about a third (28.13%) do it only if the patient refers a problem; the others do not perform oral cavity examination during the consultation or only perform it if requested by the mother.
