Resumen
Urban growth has become a spatial phenomenon of importance in Latin America and the world, which due to its connotation of social problem that directly affects the environmental system and consequently the quality of life both present and future, must be controlled.
The importance of multitemporal analysis lies in the fact that it allows identifying the effects of accelerated population growth in urban areas on land cover, a phenomenon that is reflected in the urbanization of environmentally important areas such as river basins. The investigation made a diagnosis about the evolution of the urbanization process on the urban micro-basins: Hato de la Virgen and Las Panelas- La Balsa, with the objective of identifying the areas that present the greatest vulnerability and that must be recovered to improve the conditions of provision of the system of aqueduct. The present project is presented with the objective of generating instruments to strengthen the planning of green areas, since it favors the environmental and social sustainability of urban basins, not only for its aesthetic nature but also for the ecological stability and environmental services that they lend to the community.
