        Resumen
When identifying the problem constituted by the dispersion and low quality of the spaces that house the different administrative dependencies of the Barrancabermeja city hall, it is concluded that it is necessary to bring them all together in a single building, in order to improve the quality of service and the public image of the municipal administration. According to what has been said, the first thing to be determined are the characteristics of the property where said building is implanted from the socio-cultural and functional point of view, so that it is located in a representative and crowded sector of the city and simultaneously counts with easy access routes and spatial proximity to entities that citizens, most of the time, require when doing errands at the mayor's office, such as banks and government entities. Thus, the site of the former Ecopetrol Commissariat is chosen, which meets all these requirements. From this point on, the architectural design of the New Barrancabermeja Mayor's Office is developed following the spatial needs program, which is the product of the research carried out on each of the administrative dependencies of the Barrancabermeja city hall and critical reasoning. Hand in hand with the spatial needs program is the aesthetic proposal that defines the image of the building and is represented in urban spaces, materiality, facades and the shape of the building. Thus, the present Architectural Design Proposal for the New Barrancabermeja city hall seeks to improve the quality of service and the public image of the municipal administration.
