        Resumen
The modern world has introduced the digital era and with it the implementation and evolution of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), in addition, this has allowed the Internet through web pages or contact platforms to function as a medium for commercial transactions, i.e. purchases and sales of goods and services, which are carried out in the digital world. The above, as well as having a positive impact on the strengthening of trade and countless economic and cultural benefits, also gives rise to certain negative consequences, especially for the party who buys, called the consumer, because within the business relationships established in the framework of electronic commerce, this party occupies the place of the weakest party, so it is often a victim of deception, scams, misleading advertising, defective products or products that should not be received, fraudulent sales, among others. In this way, the international community has tried to promote uniformity in the rules of cross-border trade, which has been considered by the different countries at the time of legislating. In accordance with this, Colombia has not been indifferent to the new needs brought about by the relationship between the digital era and business, which is why this paper determines the legal regulation that protects the consumer in electronic commerce in Colombia.
