In Colombia, a developing country, the different industrial processes demand increasing amounts of energy, so it is important to look for alternatives to improve the efficiency of the processes. In this document a proposal for energy saving and efficient use of energy was proposed, which consists of recovering the thermal energy contained in the combustion gases resulting from an industrial iron smelting process. It is proposed to use these residual combustion gases to reintegrate them into the system in order to preheat the air used to feed the industrial furnace where combustion takes place. This approach contributes to improve the energy efficiency of the industrial process in general, reduces production costs in the company and helps to reduce the company's carbon footprint.
