San Gil una aventura por explorar: El turismo como apuesta productiva

Abstract

Tourism at the national level has acquired a special relevance being an engine of economic development in the places or communities that it is practiced. The municipality of San Gil is one of the towns with a large number of visitors and due to the variety of tourist offer that is carried out, aimed at different types of tourism, many of these developed with nature. For this reason, due to the high percentage of tourists that the municipality receives, it has been shown that day by day many more issues or factors are related to this industry and, in turn, problems arise that aggravate its development, therefore, a review of public policies, programs and projects focused on tourism in the last decade. Then to be clear, it is these factors that are failing, proposals are made to combat these problems. Upon reaching this point and having the necessary information, it is shown that tourism in Colombia is a transcendental factor that helps to improve the quality of life of people or populations that were marginalized from society and this is due to the large increase that has achieved community tourism, ecotourism and rural. In terms of sustainability, there is still a long way to go, there is still not a sufficient basis or awareness of how much tourism depends on the environment by operators and tourists at the time of developing the different types of activities.
