Resumen
Because aging and the inevitable deterioration that it generates in the body is one of the main fears that today's society faces, various authors have sought to characterize the stage of senescence, concluding that with the Over the years, multiple degenerative processes occur in all the organs and systems of the body, one of them is the musculoskeletal system, in which it is not uncommon to find bone decalcification characterized by markedly weakening the bones and making them more vulnerable to fractures. This added to possible wear at the articular level, can produce a decrease in their functionality (Riveros, 2009); affecting their mobility and the body's ability to adopt erect postures, which in turn can have repercussions on the functional independence of the older adult (Rikli & Jones, 2001). To face some of these problems, the application of a training program based on Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation is proposed, which is a “Method that favors or accelerates the neuromuscular mechanism, by stimulating proprioceptors” (Alter, 2004, p 105); applied to 34 apparently healthy older adults, based on the Contract-Relax technique and the Kabat diagonals over a period of 12 weeks. With this, it is intended to increase the articular mobility of the elderly, improve their posture, improve the execution of daily tasks and with it, transform various aspects that affect the quality of life of said population; from the field of action of Physical Culture, Sport and Recreation. After the project started, diagnostic results were obtained that show the importance of continuing to promote healthy lifestyle habits and physical exercise in this population, and results that allowed identifying some changes in terms of flexibility, posture and quality of life, although in Most of them were not statistically significant, which in support of the background allows us to conclude that to obtain statistically significant results it is necessary to generate programs of at least 15 weeks, with a more significant sample and implementing instruments and protocols with adequate sensitivity to identify changes .
