dc.description.abstract | The present degree work exposes the design and construction of a didactic axial fan test bench for the laboratories of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Santo Tomás University Tunja section. The test bench constitutes a space for experimentation and implementation of the theoretical component developed in the Hydraulic Machines subject. In this way, it benefits students and teachers to the correct articulation of theory with practice, to guarantee optimal teaching and learning.
The design was developed under the AMCA 210 standard, which specifies the design characteristics of benches for axial fans tests, together with the conditions, instruments and methods that allow the laboratory test of the fan to be carried out to determine its aerodynamic performance and represent it through of its use in turbomachinery laboratory practices by means of the characteristic curve of the axial fan.
A low-cost axial fan test bench was built and installed, where the axial fan is tested at different rotation regimes, to determine the pressure and flow rate it produces, using a static Pitot tube connected to a pressure gauge. liquid column differential. Subsequently, the pairs of data obtained are represented in a graph to obtain the characteristic curve of the fan and its performance.
As a result, the design of a test bench for an axial fan standardized under the AMCA 210 standard is obtained, which allows formative research and the testing of prototypes proposed in semester projects or research hotbeds of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. | |
