Abstract

To formulate the proposal of a non-profit economic model, which advocates for the protection of the moorlands, through awareness and education aimed at creating awareness in people, with the implementation of innovative ecotourism that contributes to the promotion of sustained and sustainable development. This project is aimed at raising the awareness of people who are vandalizing the moorlands, so that they stop their bad practices and instead help to take care of these lands. The help to take care of these lands is going to be done by means of forest rangers to take care of the lands where the moorlands are located. But where are the forest rangers going to be hired from? Bearing in mind that the people who plant potatoes or raise cows in the moorlands have to subsist on some economic activity, they will be hired by the foundation as forest rangers or tourist guides, thus guaranteeing that this population will not repeat the previous practices. The care of the moorlands will be complemented with a frailejones reforestation plan, which will initially be long term, due to the slow growth of this plant (it grows approximately 1 centimeter per year). The important thing is to take the initiative so as not to regret it in the future. The Foundation will support itself through the sale of theoretical/practical ecotourism courses that will be offered to private schools in the city of Bogota that are located in the strata 3 - 6. Schools that support the foundation by purchasing these courses will receive recognition on our website for contributing to the environment.
