This degree project aimed to recognize the way in which has been built the sense and meaning of the identity with respect to the practices of consumption of cosmetic procedures and plastic surgery in women transgender of Bogotá with ages between 30 and 50 years. It was a research of qualitative type using the method phenomenological, which allowed through the stories of life understand from vivid relationships, the lived space, embodied and lived time values and life experiences of the participants. The results obtained allowed to recognize that the practice cosmetic procedures and cosmetic surgeries in the population of women transgender are performed in order to improve their appearance, their defined gender identity as a result, similar to their self-esteem to same to generate work, social and family acceptance I was looking for. The meaning that transgender women give to those surgical and non-surgical procedures is based on the emotional experiences and experiences based on their reference group.
