Resumen
The purpose of this project is to integrate the society that possesses a disability or reduced mobility with the people that do not in an equal and non-discriminatory environment. Furthermore, developing different recreational and leisure actions that do not pose a difficulty through spaces suitable for universal or diverse use of the elements that make up the public space is another of this projects’ objectives. We have chosen as subject of study five (5) neighborhood parks located in the Locality of Engativá of the city of Bogotá, where it is sought that these cases of study serve as evidence of a mayor need and sow an assessment for the constant approach of public space to a universal environment. For this reason, a number of alternatives are presented for the improvement of the accessibility and inclusivity in public parks. We will identify the architectural barriers existing in each of the parks taking as references; constructions of parks recognized worldwide for their high level of accessibility, manuals of accessible parks, population statistical data and studies carried out along with the characterization of the areas of common use in each of the parks.
It should be mentioned that during and after the realization of this undergraduate thesis, it was not intended to offend or discriminate in any way to the population with any problem of movement reduction. Also, it is recognized that most likely the lexicon and terminology used may displease some of the readers. Therefore, we offer our most sincere apologies in advance in case this is a cause some displeasure.
